FENG SHUI is the ancient Chinese system of creating harmonious surroundings which bring happiness, prosperity and good health.
The following steps will help you to revitalize your home at the end of a cold, dry winter season when we tend to hibernate and feel blue while our homes get stale with negative energy.
Once you’ve prepared your home by taking the following steps,
Montes ReDesign and Staging will help bring balance to your home and create a more positive and energizing living space.

STEPS:

1. Evaluate your home, room by room and make a list of what works in each room and what doesn’t.

2. De-clutter each room by tackling that stack of paper built up in each room during the season – trash, shred or file newspapers, magazines, junk mail, etc.

3. Organize and file important papers, bills, and magazine articles that have been building up in every corner and surface throughout the house.

4. Color, walk through your home and consider a fresh coat of paint on the walls or paint a piece of furniture for a fresher, brighter look.

5. Lighting – bright lighting helps to change your mood during the winter months, so make sure you have bright, white, efficient lighting in every room, task, direct and indirect lighting are required in almost every room all year round.

6. Clean and dust corners that we sometimes overlook especially during the winter months when cobwebs and dust from heaters builders up.

7. Broken or torn items need to be repaired or discarded.

8. Plants – during the winter months plants also hibernate, but you check if they need additional soil, cut back or remove out of control vines and dead leaves and that natural or artificial light is available so they survive throughout the year. Sometimes changing out a container or moving your plant to a new location will give a new fresher look.
